How our blank football jerseys are cut over pads

Game jerseys use 200 to 240 gsm polyester with spandex inserts set into the shoulder yoke and down the side seams. The stretch lets the body pull down over a pad and stay there, and it leaves an opponent very little loose fabric to grab.

Linemen and skill players get different blocks. The lineman body is fuller through the chest and shorter in length, while the skill body runs tighter with a shorter sleeve. If your customer sends one size run for the whole roster, ask for the position split before the order is placed, because one block across a roster fits neither group well.

Knitting and dyeing come from partner mills. Cutting, sewing, decoration and the AQL 2.5 final inspection all happen in our own factory before the cartons are packed.

Blank vs custom football jerseys for resellers

Order blank if your shop decorates. The jersey still arrives on the over-pad pattern in the colors and trim you chose, so your press or embroidery line only adds numbers, names and marks. The prices on every style page are for these blank garments.

Order custom football jerseys if you want them finished here. Numbers go on by sublimation, printed into the fabric with no edge to lift, or by tackle twill stitched down at the edges. We do not heat-press numbers on game jerseys, because a pressed number starts lifting at a corner after a season of contact and washing. Every decoration method is quoted per design.

US high school rules call for numbers at least 8 inches tall on the front and 10 inches on the back, in a color that clearly contrasts with the jersey body. Contrast is where most rejected designs fail, so send the current rule page from your customer's league with the artwork and we build to it.

Youth and adult football uniform sizing

Youth football uniforms are cut on their own pattern, not shrunk from the adult block, and youth sizes run YXS to YXL. That matters most at the shoulder, where a youth pad sits narrower than an adult one.

Fit over a shoulder pad changes more between pad makers than between players, so the pad make and model is the most useful line on any size breakdown. For a first order with a new program, we suggest a size set next to the decorated sample, so the coaches can fit linemen and skill players over pads before you confirm bulk quantities.

Football volume comes from programs that replace game sets on a rotation and buy practice jerseys every season. Youth organizations order across several age divisions at once, 7v7 and semi-pro teams buy game and practice sets together, and booster groups add fan jerseys and sideline wear. These accounts come back each year, and a reorder of a style we have already made has no minimum.
