Rivalry week, senior night and throwback games create a third uniform sale that many dealers miss. These alternate football uniforms use the same pattern as the home set, so a player who fits the home jersey fits this one. The design is the only thing that changes, which gives your customer room to try a blackout, a throwback stripe or a gradient without sizing anyone again.
The build matches the pro-cut set: polyester jersey with spandex inserts at the shoulder and side seams, an integrated pant, and numbers sublimated or stitched in tackle twill. An alternate only sees a few games a season, so many programs choose full sublimation to keep weight and cost down.
Worth knowing: Dark-on-dark blackout designs can fail number contrast rules, so check the number color against the body before you approve the proof.

Sublimation suits alternates because a gradient, camo pattern or throwback stripe costs the same to print as a flat color. Tackle twill is available when the program wants a stitched number like its home set.

No, as long as the home set was made on our pro-cut pattern. Use the home size breakdown and the alternate fits the same way. If the home set came from another supplier, order a size set first.
Yes, but the numbers still need clear contrast with the jersey body under most rules. A black jersey with dark gray numbers is likely to be ruled out. We flag contrast problems on the proof before production.
Yes. Many alternates pair the new jersey with a pant in another color or with new side stripes. The pant is cut on the same pattern, so pant sizes carry over too.
