Rugby clubs dress up for match day more than most sports: the committee in the clubhouse, coaches meeting the referee, the squad on the bus to an away fixture. The rugby polo is the garment for those moments. It has a collar in a contrast club color and takes an embroidered crest on the chest, which reads as club dress rather than training kit to anyone who sees it.
We make it in pique, a textured honeycomb knit in polyester or cotton-poly, and confirm the blend and weight on your quote. For your customers, polos are a steady line beyond the playing squad, because committee members, volunteers and sponsors want them too, and a club adds a few each time a new volunteer joins.
Worth knowing: Dense embroidery on a thin polo knit can pucker, so large crests need a lighter stitch density, which we check on the stitch-out before production.

Embroidery is the standard on a polo and suits the club-dress look. A printed sponsor on the back or sleeve can be added by screen print or heat transfer.

Yes. We digitize the crest in house and send a stitch-out for approval before production, so you see the thread colors and density first. Thread is matched to embroidery shade cards rather than PMS references.
No. A rugby polo is a short-sleeve pique knit with a soft collar, made for club dress and travel. A rugby shirt is long-sleeve, heavier and built to be played in, like our collared rugby shirt (RG-001). Many clubs order both in the same colors.
