A cheer uniform has to move through a full-out routine of tumbling, stunts, and jumps, then still look perfect under the lights. Our competition pieces are a four-way-stretch knit of about 82% polyester and 18% spandex with flatlock seams that lie flat against the skin. The fit stays put through a back handspring and a basket toss, without riding up or bunching.
Your program colors, panels, and patterns are sublimated into the fabric, so they stretch with it and never crack. The shine comes after that: heat-set rhinestones, sequins, and metallic vinyl names and mascots applied on top.
Building the competition uniform
Squads mix and match the pieces that suit their routine. Tops come as a classic shell, a crop top, or a long-sleeve top, and some programs prefer a one-piece bodysuit. Skirts come in box-pleat and knife-pleat styles with attached briefs and a wide waistband, so nothing shifts during stunts. There is also a skirt with built-in boy-cut shorts.
Boy-cut briefs go under any skirt, and metallic foil shorts make a bold alternative to a skirt. Dance teams can choose a full one-piece unitard. Every piece is cut from your design, so the whole squad matches from the flyer to the base.
Rhinestones, vinyl, and what each fabric can take
We decorate stretch fabric with sublimation, heat-set rhinestones and sequins, and metallic heat-transfer vinyl. We don't embroider on stretch fabric, because the stitches crack and pucker as the fabric moves. Team names and mascots are either sublimated or pressed in vinyl.
Metallic shorts work differently. The shine comes from a foil-coated spandex, and sublimation can't print onto foil, so names and logos on metallic shorts are always vinyl or rhinestone. We will tell you which method fits each piece of your design before we produce anything.
Practice wear and warm-ups
Practice is where squads spend most of their time. We make poly-cotton practice tees, polyester performance tees, racerback tanks, dance crop tops and tanks, spandex shorts, and full-length and capri leggings with a high waist, all in your program colors.
For competition days and travel, full-zip warm-up jackets and quarter-zip pullovers in smooth performance polyester, and 320 GSM brushed-fleece hoodies keep the team matched before and after the routine.
Pom poms and shoes: an honest note
Pom poms are built in your one or two program colors, using metallic foil or matte plastic streamers on a custom-color handle. They are not sublimated or embroidered, because the streamer color is the design. They are sold per pair and sized by streamer length.
Our cheer shoes are a custom colorway on a standard cheer-shoe build. We put your team colors on the upper and add your logo, but we don't change the sole, grip, or fit. Crew and ankle socks in a cushioned poly knit finish the look.
Fit and care
Competition tops, skirts, and briefs are cut to fit close, so order your true size. We make youth and adult sizes, and our size charts list measurements, so you can size a whole squad from one chart. Mixed sizes in one order cost nothing extra.
Wash uniforms cold and inside out in a mesh bag, and hang them to dry. Skip bleach, and never iron over rhinestones or vinyl. Sublimated color is dyed into the fabric, and the bling is heat-set, so careful washing keeps the uniform ready for the next competition.
