The soccer goalkeeper shorts are the GK-position match-day cut, distinct from the four outfield shorts in our range. The 140 GSM polyester knit body is the same fabric as our 5-inch men's outfield shorts, but with light-weight EVA foam padding integrated into the hip side panels for slide-tackle and dive-impact absorption. Cut at 8 inches (between the outfield 7-inch and GK padded pants), with A-line drape at the leg opening for full diving range of motion. NO pockets (same FIFA rule as outfield shorts), reinforced double-needle stitching at all stress seams. Important. FIFA Law 4 requires the goalkeeper's outfit be visually distinguishable from the outfield kit AND from match officials. Plan your GK colorway separately from the rest of the squad. Padding: The padded hip side panels are LIGHT-WEIGHT EVA foam inserts. soccer-GK-specific impact absorption, NOT heavy gym-padding. The foam absorbs the rotational and slide-out impacts that goalkeepers take dozens of times per match (dive saves, slide tackles, post-collisions, turf landings on the hip). It does NOT make the shorts feel bulky or restrict movement. The padding is approximately 4-6 mm thick and contoured to the hip silhouette.
FIFA colorway rule: FIFA Law 4 (Players' Equipment) requires that the goalkeeper's outfit be visually distinguishable from both the outfield kit AND the match officials' kit. Plan your GK colorway separately from the rest of your squad's outfield colors. We recommend submitting a separate sublimation file for the GK shorts with a distinct primary color. Decoration on padded zones: Decoration on the FLAT front and back hip panels takes embroidery, tackle twill, and screen-printing cleanly. Sublimation across the padded zones shows a slight pillow-effect texture at the foam panels (industry-normal across padded sportswear).
No pockets: Same NO-POCKETS FIFA rule as our outfield shorts. The goalkeeper is still an outfield-rules player. gloves carry the tools, not pockets. The match-play regulation against pocketed shorts extends from FIFA-rules competitions down through college, club, and amateur soccer worldwide.
